Domestic aide in custody

Panadura North Police fished out a body of a father of four from a well in a garden at Horetuduwa, Panadura last week.

Panadura Acting Magistrate Ramani de Saram held the Magisterial inquiry.

The body was identified as that of Welgamage Gamini Douglas, 68, who resided in a house at Nagahawaraya Road, Horetuduwa, Panadura. The Acting Magistrate directed the Panadura AJMO to perform the autopsy and forward the medical report to Court.

It is alleged that the body had been dumped into the well after being assaulted.

Police took into custody the domestic aide of the house for questioning where Douglas lived.

Panadura North Police are investigating.
