Stock of venison seized

Police in Medagama off Bibile have recently seized a stock of venison in a house in the Kendavinna village.

According to a report from Kendavinna, police found 8 kilograms of venison in a house there during a raid conducted recently.

Police arrested the owner of this house for questioning.

Police believe that the person could be a wildlife hunter utilizing the nearby Pallakiruva forest, the report added.

Meanwhile five kilos of dried venison hidden in an abandoned house in the Kithul-Uthuva village off Habarana, on the Dambulla-Polonnaruwa highway, have been seized by officials from the Wildlife Conservation Department and police have taken in a man for questioning.
