Tuition master arrested

Two suspects including a tuition master were arrested by the Meetiyagoda police for impersonating two candidates at the GCE Ordinary Level Examination last week. This followed a complaint made by the supervising officer at the Weragoda Wijayaba Vidyalaya examination centre.

Following interrogations, four other suspects including a grama seva niladhari were arrested. All six suspects were produced before Balapitiya Acting Magistrate Narada Mendis who remanded the grama niladhari and another suspect till December 28. The others including the tuition master and the two suspect student involved were released on Rs 100,000 personal bail each and ordered them to appear in court on December 28. Police investigations are continuing.
