Wilpattu circuit bungalows open

The circuit bunglows in the Wilpattu Sanctuary were open to local and
foreign visitors from last week.
These bungalows were closed three years ago due to LTTE terrorist
activities. Modaragam Aru wooden bungalow, costs Rs 8,000 per night. The
duration of occupation is limited for three days only.
The bungalows can be reserved through the Wildlife Head Office
Colombo, Chief Park Warden Weerasinghe Dissanayake said.
Meanwhile, the Wildlife authorities, on the instructions of Agrarian
Services and Wildlife Affairs Minister S M Chandrasena will take action
to preserve and protect places of archaeological, cultural and
historical importance in the sanctuary. Meanwhile, selected Civil
Security Corps personnel will be deployed to upgrade visitors’ care
services. They are expected to deal with poachers and timber racketeers,
Weerasinghe said.
