Markets close high

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) closed high yesterday with All Share Price Index (ASPI) closed at 6621.51 moving up by 63.26 points while Milanka Price Index (MPI) closed at 7026.56 points up by 41.53 points. The daily turnover was over Rs 1.1 billion. The top contributors were Renuka Holdings, John Keells Holdings, Richard Pieris and Company, Kotagala Plantations and Hatton National Bank.

The investors yesterday were much keen on the plantation sector and there was a strategic block transferred in Renuka Holdings.
