Theraputta NS to play first XI cricket

Theraputta National School, Ambalantota have taken a positive step and entered a team for the under 19 division III cricket tournament this season.

In the past Theraputta played only in the under 13 and under 15 division III tournaments and the under 17 division II tournament.

Sri Lanka under 19 World Cup cap Kasun Madhusanka who is now with St Servatius College, Matara, incidently Kasun captained the under 15 team in 2005 and 2006 and the under 17 team in 2007 and 2008 when at Theraputta.

Principal Upali Rajakaruna has given coach and Master-in-charge of cricket Leelananda Kumarasiri the green light to play in the 2010/2011 season.
