LTTE remnants threaten Indian VVIPs

The LTTE remnants are trying to regroup in India and are posing a threat to VVIPs, the Indian Government told a tribunal examining the extension of the ban on the outfit on November 1.

Rs 3.1 m heroin seized

A special police team of the Kurunegala Crime branch taken into custody two suspects for possessing 26 grams of heroin worth of Rs 3.1 million Monday. The two suspects were transporting heroin from Colombo to Kurunegala. They have neatly packed the heroin in several parcels.

Alleged car robbers in police net

The Police Special Operations Unit in Mirihana arrested two suspects Sunday, for allegedly steeling a motor car worth Rs 5.8 million. According to Police the car was stolen at Kaudana in Mount Lavinia on August 07. After the investigations, a group of Police officers led by Police Special Operations Unit, Mirihana OIC IP Janaka Kumara found the car hidden in a place at Embilipitiya.
