New EFC Council

JMS Brito was unanimously elected as the new Chairman of the Employers' Federation of Ceylon (EFC) at the Annual General Meeting held at the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Colombo recently.

Sunil G Wijesinha was also unanimously elected as Vice Chairman R L P Peiris continues to be the Director General. Meanwhile the following members were appointed respectively for the different sectors.

Mohan de Alwis - Banking, Financial and Insurance Services Group
S K L Obeyesekere - Plantation Services Group
S Poholiyadde - Plantation Services Group
Pravir Samarasinghe - Manufacturing - Industrial Estates
S T Nagendra - Manufacturing - Small and Medium Industries
R Pandithakoralage - Manufacturing - Board of Investment
Dilan Gooneratne - Manufacturing - Garments and Textiles
Mohan Pandithage - Manufacturing - Export
Suresh Shah - Manufacturing - Food and Beverage
Susantha Ratnayake - Services Group
Chris Nonis - Services Group

H D S Amarasuriya, J D Bandaranayake, Amal Cabraal, N D C Austin and C L K P Jayasuriya were nominated as council members while Harin Malwatte was nominated to represent the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Mahen Dayananda represented Affiliated Associations Group and A N Fernando and Tilak de Zoysa became Co-opted Members.
