Manju to be felicitated

A function under the patronage of Prime Minister D M Jayaratne will be held in Kandy on October 19 (tomorrow) to felicitate Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist Manju Wanniarachchi.

He will be welcomed at the Getambe ground by the Premier and other Ministers and conducted to Kandy town in a special motorcade.

After he is welcomed by the Kandy people, Wanniarachchi will be accompanied in a procession to his Alma Mater Vidyartha College Kandy led by the Vidyartha school band.

There he will be felicitated by the staff and the students. Sports Minister C B Ratnayake, Mass Media and Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, Central Province Governor Tikiri Kobbekaduwa and Chief Minister of Central Province Sarath Ekanayake and a large crowd are due to participate in the felicitation ceremony.
