Death of Al Haj Jauffer Sadique

Al Haj Jauffer Sadique, the father of Sri Lankan Ambassador to Brazil Maznavi Sadique, expired and his janaza took place yesterday at the Dehiwela Muslim Burial Grounds amidst a large gathering of Parliamentarians, diplomats and a cross section of the community.

Al Haj Sadique was 81 years old. He was the father of four.

He was involved in helping pilgrims going for Hajj through the Hajj Committee of the All Ceylon Muslim League headed by Falil Caffor. UPFA Parliamentarian A H M Azwer in a condolence message said that he was an active member of the Muslim League and did a yeoman service to the Muslims in the Slave Island area.
