Powering Norochcholai project

The Power and Energy Ministry connected electricity to the high tension transmission line linking Norochcholai and Veyangoda recently. The 117 kilometre electricity line has been constructed at a cost of US $ 62 million to supply electricity to the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant which is under construction.

The electricity line will be used to distribute generated electricity to the national grid from Norochcholai after the Norochcholai coal power plant is commissioned.
