Air Force ‘Sevens’ team for Malaysia

The Sri Lanka Air Force will take part in the Jonah Jones Seven-a-side Rugby Tournament which will be worked off in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on September 25 and 26, 2010.

With the SLRFU deciding not to send the national team for the tournament they have extended the invitation to Air Force and Navy to take part in the tournament. The Airmen emerged runners up of the club rugby sevens losing 17-21 to CR and FC in the final.

The Airmen will field a strong team for this competition which includes five Sri Lanka players-skipper Milinda Jayasinghe, Radhika Hettiarachchi, Chanaka Chandimal, Charith Seneviratne and Dilan de Zoysa and two Sri Lanka youth players ‘Rajitha Sansoni and Prabath Jayalath.

The team will be coached by former Sri Lanka ‘Sevens’ coach Imthie Mariker and the team will be managed by ex-Air Force Skipper Dhammika Medagedera.

The Air Force squad for Malaysia:

Milinda Jayasinghe (caption), Radhika Hettiarachchi, Pradeep Kurukulasuriya, Chanaka Chandimal, Charith Seneviratne, Pubudu Kodagoda, Rajitha Sansoni, Prabath Jayalath, Chanaka Gunaratne, Gayan Iddamalgoda, Dilan de Zoysa, Wasamba Senareth.
