Polonnaruwa police have taken into custody eight police officers including an Assistant Superintendent of Police while hunting for treasures at the Dimbulagala Siripura Suriyadeva Raja Maha Vihara Monday around 2 a.m.

Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) Chairman and Former Attorney General C R de Silva PC yesterday told the Daily News that the Terrorist Investigation Department (TID) officials would be brought before the Commission next Friday to inquire into the LTTE suspects and the hardcore members now in detention.

Nugegoda Magistrate and Additional District Judge Rohana Kumara Herath ordered the Criminal Investigation Department to file a complaint to Court against the suspect Police Inspector who is alleged to have attempted to take part of the property at the business premises of Sakvithi Ranasinghe after he fled the country.
