Shilpa - Sri Lanka sales exhibition in Delhi
The National Crafts Council (NCC), the Sri Lankan High Commission
India, Indian Handicrafts Development Commissioner's Office and Sri
Lanka Tourist Promotion Institute has organized Shilpa- Sri Lanka
Handicrafts Sales Exhibition which will be held on October 29 to
November 11 at Delhi Haat Handicrafts Sales Center in New Delhi, India.
The sales exhibition has been organized to open new avenues for Sri
Lanka handicrafts artistes to enter international handicrafts markets.
About 11 veteran Sri Lankan handicraftsmen will participate in the
exhibition. These artistes have been selected by the NCC through an
interview. The Sri Lanka High Commission in India has everything
possible to make this exhibition a complete success. The sales
exhibition has been arranged under the guidance and supervision of NCC
Chairman Buddhi Keerthisena .
Keerthisena said that the exhibition is held during a festive season
of Deepawali and it is common that more tourists will arrive in India
during this period. Sri Lankan handicraftsmen will have better
opportunities to sell their creations successfully. The Delhi Haat
Handicrafts Exhibition Center is opened throughout the year and
different kinds of handicrafts manufactured in different Indian states
can be bought at the center. The center is famous for handicrafts. Sri
Lanka handicrafts artistes will be able to sell their creations to
cosmopolitan society because tourists from different counties will visit
this exhibition. |
