TM Sanghadasa, friend of common masses - President

Former Director/Consultant of the National Film Corporation T M Sanghadasa entered politics from the Sri Lanka Communist Party and remained a friend and representative of the common masses till his death. I highly value his life's traits, states President Mahinda Rajapaksa in a condolence message issued yesterday on the death of Sanghadasa.

The message added that Sanghadasa was a politician who understood the heart beat of the masses. As the essence of his politics was dedication towards the fulfillment of the hopes and aspirations of the masses he was immensely helpful to the Government as well. Since Sanghadasa always associated with people those who came into contact with him including artistes and the public will never forget him.

The message added that Sanghadasa was always with the artistes both in times of their joy and sorrow. His mind was a storehouse of the arts due to his love towards both local and foreign arts. His love towards art was clearly displayed in his lifestyle.

He was gifted with the posts of Director/Consultant of the National Film Corporation and Lanka Kala Foundation President due to his love and reverence towards arts.

The President in his message said he was greatly saddened by the death of Sanghadasa.
