Police BC in hard fought win

Sri Lanka Police BC pulled off a hard fought 74 points to 69 points victory over Sri Lanka Army BC in their Carlton Cup 2010 inter club basketball tournament match worked off at the Depot Police courts in Bambalapitiya yesterday.

The winners built up a commanding 37-29 lead at half time and then went on to add the finishing touches through Sujith Master (31) and Sujeewa Sampath (14) who were outstanding in both attack and defence. L. Kodikara (20) and Romesh Fernando (18) figured a vain effort for Sri Lanka Army BC.

Meanwhile SMI Property Limited defeated Don Bosco BC 57-46 in another encounter after leading 29-20 at half time and played at the same venue yesterday.

Dhinal Perera (15) and Rashmila Lawrence (11) formed a superb combination for the winners while W.C. Fernando (26) and W. Akila (8) had a good game for Don Bosco BC.
