Ananda College gymnasts dominate
Ananda College Colombo and Mary Immaculate
Convent took major honours as they emerged boys and girls overall
champions of the Gymnastic Championships of the 2010 National
Schools Sports Festival worked off at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium
in Colombo.

Lemaitre storms 100m
European sprint champion Christophe Lemaitre
cruised to victory in the 100 metres sprint at the Super Track and
Field Meet Sunday, clocking 10.26 seconds. The Frenchman finished
his final race of the season by shrugging off a challenge from
American 200 metres specialist Wallace Spearmon, who finished second
running 10.47 seconds.

Sidebottom retires
England pace bowler Ryan Sidebottom has
announced his immediate retirement from international cricket.
Sidebottom, 32, was part of England’s World Twenty20-winning squad
earlier this year in the West Indies.
