Thieves nabbed with spices worth Rs 300,000

Kuruvita Police arrested two persons, who allegedly stole cloves and pepper worth Rs 300,000 from a wholesale businessman's store in Kuruvita town Sunday evening.

According to the Police the suspects entered the store around 7 p.m. on September 15 and had stayed there for nearly 12 hours before disappearing with the spices.

Police initiated investigations after a complaint by the store owner. The Police seized the cloves and pepper stolen by the suspects.

Police said the two suspects were from the same area. They were to be produced before the Ratnapura Magistrate. Kuruvita Police is investigating.
