Ministry to solve Ayurvedic producers’ woes

The Indigenous Medicine Ministry will solve Ayurvedic medicine producers problems.

There are 131 Ayurvedic medicine producers registered by the Ayurvedic Department while there is also a large number of unregistered medicine producers.

The Minister requested producers to make medicine according to traditional recipes.

The Ministry will provide modern equipment to enhance productivity, Indigenous Medicine Minister Piyasena Gamage said. He was addressing the Ayurvedic medicine producers at the Ayurvedic Research Institute, Navinna recently.

Ayurvedic medicine can be imported without taxes. Ayurvedic medicine producers had to face lots of difficulties without explosives and dangerous drugs that they need to produce medicine.

With the war situation in the country no permission was granted on explosives. Now the ban has been lifted on them.
