Help Youri to find his mother

‘YOURI’ who was born on September 16, 1976 at the Ragama Hospital seeks public assistance to trace his parents, specially the mother who was living at Balangoda.

According to the investigations conducted by the Legal Aid Commission (LAC) Attorney-at-Law Kalani Medogoda his mother was born on September 1, 1949.

When her father died she tried to find a job. In 1973 she found a job in Colombo close to the Haveolock Road. According to her she worked for a wealthy family. The father of this family was a school principal. He died a few months later.

While she was at this house she found a young man from Singapore in December 1975 who was a relative of this family where she worked. She had associated with him for several months. Later she found that she was pregnant.

With the assistance of her friend she was able to get shelter at a place in Negombo where she gave birth to Youri on September 16, 1979.

Later she had decided to give the child for adoption and she handed over the child to a sister in Negombo Police area.

YOURI now a 34-years-old wants to trace his mother and seeks the public assistance. Any information please contact the LAC Legal Officer Kalani Medogoda at Hulftdorp, Colombo 12.
