Nakiadeniya Rubber Estate volleyball and cricket champions

Nakiadeniya Rubber Estate emerged winners of both volleyball and cricket at the Watawala Plantations Udugama Group Inter-Estate Volleyball and Cricket tournaments conducted recently at the Estate playground.

The tournament was organized under the guidance of the Chief Executive Officer Dr. Dan Seevaratnam to promote recreation facilities of Watawala Plantation Associates.

Watawala Plantations has taken many initiatives to assist the associates under the company concept of “Happy Families”.

Four estates namely Homadola, Jalangaha, Nakiadeniya Rubber and Nakiadeniya Oil Palm took part in the tournament.

Homadola estate and Nakiadeniya Oil Palm Estates emerged runners-up respectively in Volleyball and cricket.

Enthusiasm of the participant was very high as this is the first time such an event was organized for them in the area. Senior Manager Gamini Ratnayake co-ordinated the tournament on the instructions of the General Manager Yagith De Silva.
