Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella visited Lake House yesterday
morning. He was received at the entrance by Chairman Lake House veteran
journalist Bandula Padmakumara. Associated with the Minister were Media
and Information Ministry Secretary W B Ganegala, Public Trustee Sarath
Seneviratne and Information Director General Prof. Ariyaratne Athugala.
The Minister was also present when the Chairman assumed duties amidst
pirith chanting by Buddhist monks. Ven. Kotugoda Dhammawasa Nayake Thera
and Ven. Ittademaliye Indrasara Thera delivered anusasanas. Ven.
Rambukana Siddhartha Thera also participated in the religious ceremony.
Director Upul Disanayake, Editors, the General Manager and Senior
Managers of Lake House were also present on the occasion.
Welcoming the Minister, Lake House Chairman Bandula Padmakumara said
that the Management, the Editors and employees of Lake House were happy
that the new Minister has had close relations with the media for more
than a decade.
They looked towards working in cooperation with the new Minister, he
added.

He also informed the Minister about the progress achieved by Lake
House during the last three years.
Minister Rambukwella speaking said that the subject of media was very
close to his heart and that he would contribute his best to develop the
media.
Recalling how he was vilified by the media the Minister noted that
despite all criticisms what he said came true at the end.
The Minister also met trade union representatives and participated in
an observation tour of Lake House. |
