Wewelkandura Tea Factory sets all time record price

Top Tea Broker John Keells PLC announced an all time record price obtained by Wewelkandura Tea Factory in Ratnapura. Wewelkandura obtained Rs. 4,910 for a line of FBOP grade at the weekly Colombo Tea Auction held on May 4, surpassing the previous record price of Rs. 4,000 established on January 12.

The line was purchased by one of the main tea exporters in the trade, Akbar Brothers Ltd. The sale was passed through John Keells PLC.
