Seminar on food safety systems
A seminar on development of HACCP 22000:2005 based Food Safety
Management Systems in catering/ hotel industry will be held on May 14,
(9.00 a.m - 1.00 p.m) at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
Food safety is a critical issue that must be managed throughout the
food chain from farm to fork. The consequences of food-borne illness can
be catastrophic not only for the consumer and health services but also
for the retailers and other organizations in the supply chain.
An important step in safeguarding food safety is the implementation
of a structured Food Safety Management System (FSMS) that is
incorporated into the overall management activities of the organization.
The seminar objective is to provide food chain professionals the skill
and knowledge necessary to implement Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS)
with a view to assess the adequacy of the design, implementation and
improvement of the catering/hotel industry based on HACCP/ ISO 22000:
2005.
The seminar is conducted by Rashitha Niroshana who is a Graduate in
Chemistry (GIC) with honors in 1997, conducted by the Institute of
Chemistry, Sri Lanka and a Post Graduate Diploma Holder in Manufacturing
Management Course conducted the Colombo University. ISO 22000:2005 and
HACCP Lead Auditor, ISO 9001:2000 Lead Auditor, TPM instructor for the
Japanese Institute of Preventive Maintenance (JIPM), member of the Royal
Australian Chemical Institute, Diploma in Quality Management conducted
by the Sri Lanka Standards Institution are his significant achievements.
The Association for International Standards (an affiliate of the
Ceylon Chamber of Commerce) through which the seminar is conducted, is
an association that promotes best practices in many sectors giving a
leading edge over others in local and global markets. |
