China-Cuba ties ‘at best’
CUBA: Relations between Cuban and Chinese Parliaments are “at their
best,” said President of the Cuban Parliament Ricardo Alarcon during
meeting with visiting Chinese lawmaker Uyunqimg here Monday.
During the meeting, Uyunqimg, Vice Chairperson of the Standing
Committee of China’s National People’s Congress, spoke highly of recent
development in bilateral parliamentary ties and called for further
efforts to boost these ties.
Uyunqimg said China-Cuba relations had entered “a new era,” as the
two countries marked the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic ties this
year.
The two countries have been reliable friends to each other, sharing
support in each other’s economic development as well as in international
affairs, she said.
Alarcon expressed thanks for China’s longtime support and economic
aid to Cuba and congratulated on China’s successful hosting of the
Beijing Olympics and the Shanghai World Expo.
He reaffirmed Cuba’s support for China’s efforts in seeking peaceful
reunification. Uyunqimg arrived here on Saturday for a three-day visit,
