Counterfeit note gets man two years RI

Panadura Provincial High Court Judge Malanee Gunaratne imposed two
years imprisonment suspended for 10 years on an accused who pleaded
guilty to possessing a Rs. 1,000 counterfeit note.
B.A. Pume Indika of Piliyandala was indicted by the Attorney General
after he was arrested by Piliyandala Police.
State Counsel Chathurangi Mahawaduge prosecuted.
Meanwhile, a woman who pleaded guilty to possessing and trafficking
heroin was imposed a four year sentence suspended for 10 years.
Sisi Thusari Perera of Moratuwa was arrested in 2004 by Moratuwa
Police and remanded for six years.
When the case was called, the accused pleaded guilty to the
indictment. Judge Gunaratne also imposed an additional one year
imprisonment on the accused as she had violated a suspended sentence of
one year in another case.
