Bourse breaks all records

Market Capitalization crosses Rs 1258 billion:

Trading at the Colombo Stock Exchange saw the All Share Price Index reaching its highest ever recorded point of 3,870.3 yesterday moving up by 88.4 points (2.3 percent) as against the previous day.

BOI investments exceed Rs 250 m this year

Direct investments received by the Board of Investment (BOI) for the first three months of this year amounted to US $ 250 million. The total investments for 2009 was US$ 602 million. The Horana Export Processing Zone has been able to attract direct investments of US $ 57.15 million with the establishment of nine new companies.

Vallibel Finance gets listed

Only seven companies are still listed in the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE), of the total of 37 Registered Finance Companies (RFCs). Vallibel Finance is the latest RFC to get listed in the CSE. The Central Bank has made it mandatory for all finance companies to get listed in the CSE before August 2011. “Getting listed in the CSE will help companies to raise capital in an efficient manner.
