Female drug peddler nabbed with heroin
The Police Narcotics Bureau nabbed a female drug
peddler along with 5.5 g heroin at Serpantine Road, Borella Sunday
evening. Police spokesman SP Prishantha Jayakody said acting on
information, the Narcotics Bureau arrested the woman aged 49 with
heroin valued at Rs.100,000 at around 7.15 pm.

Illicit liquor: heavy fines on two
Panadura Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake imposed a
Rs. 100,000 fine each on two accused who pleaded guilty to a charge
of transporting and possessing 3,600 drams of illicit liquor. B.A.
Mahinda Thilakeratne and B.G. Lakmal were produced before Court by
Panadura Police.
