Female drug peddler nabbed with heroin

The Police Narcotics Bureau nabbed a female drug peddler along with 5.5 g heroin at Serpantine Road, Borella Sunday evening. Police spokesman SP Prishantha Jayakody said acting on information, the Narcotics Bureau arrested the woman aged 49 with heroin valued at Rs.100,000 at around 7.15 pm.

“We suspect the woman to be a drug peddler. An investigation has been launched to find out with whom she had links and the ring operating in the area,” he added.

The suspect is due to be produced before the Maligawatte Magistrate today.
