Bell rallies England with century
Ian Bell cracked a solid 115 not out to lead
England’s fightback on the third day of the second and final Test
against Bangladesh on Monday in Dhaka. He hit one six and 12 fours
in his 10th Test century as England reached 372-5 in their first
innings at tea in reply to Bangladesh’s 419. The tourists were
struggling at 174-4 early in the day before Bell came to his team’s
rescue with a 98-run stand for the fifth wicket with Matt Prior (62)
and 100 for the unfinished sixth with Tim Bresnan (45 not out).

In two exciting South Zone Under 15 cager
semi-finals held at the Royal courts yesterday, between Royal and
St. Joseph’s Nugegoda and S. Thomas’ and St. Sebastians, Royal and
S. Thomas’ came out on top and will clash in the final today at 4
p.m. at the same venue.

Over 80 men and women in big sea swim
Much enthusiasm and excitement prevails and the
momentum increases amongst participants and the swimming fraternity,
as the days draw nigh to the 45th Kinross Annual Six-mile sea swim
that takes on the water stretch of the Kinross Club this Sunday. It
is being organized and conducted by the Kinross Club with the active
patronage of Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union (SLASU) with Bank of
Ceylon and Mobitel as the sponsors of the event.
