AMW obtains IMI accreditation
First in South East Asia:
The AMW Training Academy was recently accredited by IMI Awards, the
first of its kind in the region to be so certified.
This was obtained following a rigorous evaluation process.
The Institute of the Motor Industry or IMI is the leading
professional association for motor industry qualification and
accreditations in United Kingdom and recognized worldwide. IMI Awards is
the only body solely specialized in automotive industry qualifications
and accreditations.
The AMW Training Academy is to support all the technical staff
members of AMW Team by delivering training programs to improve skills
and knowledge to international standards allowing them to offer
excellence in Customer Service.
The AMW Training Academy was opened by AMW Group President of the
Board Tilak De Zoysa and Associated Motorways Ltd. Chairman Len Hunt.

Arpico awards 'Christmas Magic' millionaire
Arpico Supercentre recently awarded its Rs. one million Christmas
Magic grand prize to Anupa Perera of Dehiwala.
Generating over 500,000 entries, the hypermarket Christmas Magic
promotion ran from November 12 until January 3. To stand a chance to win
the Rs. 1 million grand prize, Arpico shoppers had to make a minimum
purchase of Rs. 2,500, inclusive of two nominated brands.
The Rs. one million grand prize was part of an Arpico promotion that
also included discounts and giveaways.
The store, gave away 10,000 instant gift vouchers during the season,
ranging in value from Rs. 250 to Rs. 10,000.

HP expands education portfolio
HP launched three specifically tailored, easy-to-manage education
solutions that make it easier to teach with technology while reducing
overall costs.
HP MultiSeat allows multiple students to simultaneously share a
single host computer, enabling schools to increase student access to
technology at a reduced cost.
"HP is helping educational institutions change to student-centered,
personalized learning environments by using technology in an affordable
and sustainable way," said HP, Personal Systems Group, Director -
Education Brian Becker. "Our offerings empower students to learn at
their own pace, allow teachers to easily manage a classroom and free up
IT managers from time-consuming maintenance," he said.
HP Personal Systems Group (South East Asia and Taiwan) Vice President
Ng Tian Chong said, "HP's Multiseat Technology will benefit all segments
of Sri Lanka's society as it is affordable and easily accessible". The
event was also addressed by HP Personal Systems Group Asian Emerging
Countries General Manager Philip Lau.
A highlight of the evening was the announcement of HP Personal System
Group's appointment of two of Sri Lanka's leading cricketers Angelo
Matthews and Jehan Mubarak as brand ambassadors.

Both Lifebuoy and Sunlight ads were totally conceptualized and
produced by the Sri Lankan team of Lowe LDB. While the Surf Tvc was
adapted from Lowe India.

questionnaire that was, this year, sent to seven provinces across Sri
Lanka.
Thirty categories of brands, personalities and organizations were
