Eight shuttlers for Malaysia

Eight shuttlers including women's champion Achini Ratnasiri,girl's
under 19 champion Lekha Shehani and promising young star Dilshan
Kariyawasam left for Malaysia to participate at the 13th Badminton Asia
Youth under 19 championships which would be held from March 21 to 28 in
Kuala Lumpur.
Prior to the tournament the team will also undergo a special two week
intensive training course which has been arranged by the Badminton Asia
Confederation.
Dilshan Kariyawasam, Achini Ratnasiri and Upuli Samanthika who have
also been selected for the prestigious Asian Development team will
receive a full scholarship covering training expenses and the total cost
for the tournament including food, accommodation and air fare.
The boys team includes Dilshan Kariyawasam and Rakitha Perera from
Ananda College, Omal Dharmawardena from St.Thomas College and
Chiranthaka Minimuthu from Alethea International.
The girls team comprises of Achini Ratnasiri and Oshadie Kuruppu from
Visakha Vidyalaya, Upuli Samanthika from Sirimavo Bandaranaike Balika
Vidyalaya and Lekha Shehani from Our Lady of Victories.
W.G. Ariyadasa will act as the manager for the team while Randesh
Aponsu will act as the coach. Kanchana de Silva will be the Lady
Chaperone for the tour.
