Open University Kalutara branch opened

President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday opened the Kalutara branch of the Open University.

The Kalutara branch of the university was housed at the Kalutara Technical college premises earlier.

This two storied building consisting of an information centre, auditorium, class rooms and a Network Access Centre was constructed under the Distance Education Modernization program.

The total cost of the project is Rs. 45 million. Students can study degree courses online at the Network Access Centre for which the Government has spent Rs. 15 million.
