Myanmar attends jewellery show
About 40 leading gem and jewellery entrepreneurs from Myanmar will
participate in Sri Lanka's leading annual gem and jewellery Show -
FACETS, which will be held in Sri Lanka from September 2 to 5. All
arrangements were finalized with regard to their participation at the
Show, during the visit of Vice Chairman, Promotion and Trade Fairs Juzar
Adamaly and the Sri Lanka Gem and Jewellery Traders' Association
Director Akram Mansoor who were in Myanmar recently, to attract more gem
and jewellery traders to the national pavilion of Myanmar at the FACETS.
This year the FACETS Sri Lanka is organizing its 20th gem and
jewellery show where gem and jewellery entrepreneurs from Thailand,
India, Hong Kong and Myanmar participate annually, apart from the
participation of a large number of local traders. The Sri Lanka Embassy
in Myanmar coordinated with the officials of the Union of Myanmar
Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) based in Yangon
as well as Mandalay, together with Myanmar Gems and Jewllery
Entrepreneurs Association, enabling the visiting FACETS officials to
meet prospective Myanmar gem and jewellery entrepreneurs.
The meetings were attended by a large number of entrepreneurs in gem
and jewellery trade and all their enquiries and problems were addressed
by the FACETS, UMFCCI and Sri Lanka Embassy officials.
A considerable increase in the number of participants from Myanmar is
observed at the show each year.
