Taliban claims responsibility

AFGHANISTAN: The Taliban claimed responsibility for a series of suicide attacks in southern Afghanistan’s city of Kandahar on Saturday, describing it as a message to NATO commanders planning a major operation there.

Taliban insurgents had carried out four bombings inside the heart of Kandahar and had inflicted heavy casualties on the “enemies of the mujahideen”, the militants said in a statement on their website.
