To raise Rs. 400 million:
Pelwatta Dairy goes for IPO
The Pelwatta Dairy Industries will declare its
first Initial Public Offer (IPO) for Rs.400 million, which is to the
value of 20 percent of the company. This will take place shortly
after the General Elections in April this year. Pelwatta Dairy
Industries Chairman Ariyaseela Wickramanayake told Daily News
Business that the company wants to make its customers shareholders
as much as possible and it will give any small number of shares to
them at Re 1 per share to achieve this objective.

Norochcholai Phase Two begins Thursday
Investment to top US $ 891 m:
The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) will commence
phase II of the Norochcholai coal power plant next Thursday. The
project was estimated to be completed in three phases. But with the
encouraging economic atmosphere the CEB is now planning to complete
the project in two phases.

Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) had a three day
discussion on the Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) deal for the
first container terminal of the new Colombo South Harbour with China
