A fine all round performance from Man of the
Match Jeevan Mendis guided Sampath Bank to a thrilling five wicket
victory over Unichela in the MCA Twenty20 cricket tournament final
worked off at the Colts CC ground in Havelock Park yesterday. Mendis
captured three wickets for 13 to restrict Unichella to 141 runs in
20 overs and then hit an unbeaten 63 from 51 balls with one six and
six boundaries as Sampath Bank reached their target with four
deliveries to spare.

Graeme Swann grabbed five wickets to bowl
England into a commanding position in the opening Test against
Bangladesh on Sunday. The off-spinner finished with 5-90 in his
fifth five-wicket haul as the hosts were bowled out for 296 in their
first innings in reply to the tourists' mammoth 599-6 declared.
