Chambers on top of the world
DOHA, Sunday - For a sprinter denied access to many of the world’s
main athletics meetings, Dwain Chambers has done a good job in proving
his many detractors wrong by winning the world indoor 60m title.
The 31-year-old Briton outclassed the field at the IAAF World Indoor
Championships on Saturday, blasting his way to a season lead of 6.48
seconds ahead pf American Michael Rodgers and Antigua’s Daniel Bailey.
It was his first senior world title and marks a remarkable comeback
from serving a two-year suspension for using a steroid he incurred in
2003.
