ICASL elects new President
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) has
elected Sujeewa Mudalige as its new President. Mudalige is the 20th
president of ICASL in its history of 50 years.
Mudalige passed out as a Chartered Accountant in 1991. He is also a
Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) of
the UK and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) of the
UK. He was elected to the ICASL Council in Dec. 1999 and was elected as
the Vice President in December 2007.
He is currently a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Chartered
Accountants and heads the assurance line of business. Mudalige has
previously worked at large public listed companies in Sri Lanka and
overseas. He was articled at Ernst and Young. Mudalige has served on a
number of Institute committees over the last 20 years and has chaired
many of its committees during the last 10 years.
He is also a member of the Accounting Standards Committee and the
Auditing Standards Committee established under the Sri Lanka Accounting
and Auditing Standards Monitoring Board Act. |
