Jayasuriya says he served public despite cricket

UPFA candidate Sanath Jayasuriya said despite active involvement in cricket, he has never failed in his community services to the people.

Speaking at meeting at Kamburupitiya town recently, Jayasuriya said he expected to relaunch his public service after the General Election. He added the country has now been blessed with the correct political leadership. “We all must support the leadership of President Mahinda Rajapaksa and his efforts towards rebuilding the nation,” he said.

“In the past, my success in the sports field depended on dedication and courage. I hope to succeed in my political life with the intention to help the public,” he said.

Southern Provincial Councillor Aruna Gooneratne and Matara Pradeshiya Sabha member Ajith Paranavithana were present.
