Unemployment to be solved in six years

The Government will definitely eradicate unemployment in this country
within the next six years, said UPFA Kandy District candidate and
Udunuwara SLFP Chief Organiser S. B. Dissanayake.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa has the farsighted leadership to overcome
the challenge of raising this country to the highest pedestal of
development, he said.
He was addressing members of the Yatinuwara Teachers' Union
affiliated to the Sri Lanka Freedom Party at a meeting at the Urapola
Sri Abhayaraja Piriven Viharaya, Pilimatalawa recently.
Dissanayake said the people should provide the President with a
strong Parliament to assist him to overcome this challenge by giving the
UPFA a two thirds majority.
This would also enable the President to change the Preferential Vote
System which had been a heavy burden on the country Dissanayake said the
Yatinuwara Teachers' Union was the strongest such union in the Kandy
district affiliated to the SLFP.
The teacher profession provided the guidance to the nation and there
was no necessity to teach politics to the teachers because they were
fully conversant with the subject, he said. Central Province Governor
