Shed differences to unite as one nation

President Mahinda Rajapaksa created a peaceful environment for all of us to live amicably in this country. He has also clearly said there are no minorities among us today.

In this context all of us should shed differences on party, race or religion and raise our heads together as one nation at the international level, Malwaththa Chapter Mahanayake Most Venerable Thibbotuwawe Sri Siddharatha Sumangala Thera said.

The Chief Prelate made these remarks before Kandy district UNF candidate Mano Ganeshan when he paid a courtesy call in Kandy yesterday.

The Chief Prelate said the more the people get divided, the worse the country would suffer in its development sphere.

The country would gain immensely if our countrymen acted in unity, the Thera said.

UNF candidate Mano Ganeshan said the Kandy district needs a Tamil representation in Parliament and he never approved the LTTE armed, struggle.
