ABA Junior National Boxing C’ships:
Chandrasekhar best boxer

A.C. Chandrasekhar of the Vidyarathana Sports Club was named best
Men’s Boxer and W.A.C.I. Perera of the SL Army was adjudged Womens best
loser at the ABA Men’s and Women’s Junior National Boxing Championships
held at Sariputhhra College indoor stadium recently.
Vidyarathana Sports Club retained the Mens overall championship and
they took 30 points in this meet. SL Navy’s scored 12 points and they
finished in second place. Kingswood College, Kandy ended third and they
scored 12 points.
Meanwhile Vidyarathana Sports Club won the Womens overall
championship.
Hony Treasurer of ABA of SL (2004 and 2005) and Human Resource and
Administration Manager MAS Intimates Unichela (Pvt) Ltd of Palitha
Peiris participated at the closing ceremony.
A.C. Chandrasekhar of the Vidyarathana SC put up a fine performance
to beat L.K.G.N. Rukshana of the Slimline (Fly Weight under 51 kgs).
N.G.S. Jayaweera of the Vidyarathana SC beat S.C. Kodituwakku of the
Rahula College (Bantam Weight Over 84 kgs).
Women’s final results:
Light Fly Wight under 46 kgs: R.A.N. Pushpakumari of the Vidyarathana
SC beat H.R. Tharangani of the Vidyarathana SC.
Bantam Wight under 54 kgs: M.M. Viushika Prabadi of the Slimline BC
beat I.M. Yamuna Damayanthi of the Unichela BC.
Feather Wight under 57 kgs: G.A.N.S. Hemachandra Vidyarathana SC
(uncontested winner).
