Kulatunga sparkles for Wayamba

Dashing opener Jeewantha Kulatunga smacked a sparkling century from 62 balls with fifteen boundaries as Wayamba pulled off a stunning 27 run victory over MAS Kandurata in their Bank of Ceylon Inter Provincial Twenty20 cricket tournament match worked off at the Galle Stadium yesterday.

Wayamba: 181 for 4 in 20 overs (M. Udawatte 27, J. Kulatunga 104 n.o, J. Mubarak 36).

Kandurata: 154 for 7 in 20 overs (K. Gunawardena 21, K. Weeraratne 60).

Opening bowler Janaka Gunaratne snapped up four wickets for 21 to give Basnahira South an upset seven run victory over Hidaramani Ruhuna in their Bank of Ceylon Inter Provincial Twenty20 cricket tournament match worked off at the Galle Stadium yesterday.

Basnahira South: 158 for 6 in 20 overs (D. Perera 25, C. Silva 24, L. Thirimanna 42, J. Gunaratne 21, S. Jayasuriya 2 for 27).

Ruhuna: 151 in 19.2 overs (U. Tharanga 23, S. Jayasuriya 25, A. Priyanjan 22, T. Sampath 24, J. Gunaratne 4 for 21).

Sri Lanka all rounder Angelo Mathews hammered an unbeaten half century from 44 balls with three sixes and five boundaries as Basnahira North defeated SLC Combined XI by eight wickets in their Bank of Ceylon Inter Provincial Twenty20 cricket tournament match worked off at the Colts ground in Havelock Park yesterday.

SLC Combined XI: 128 for 6 in 20 overs (W. Eranga 22, K. Vithanage 24, S. Serasinghe 2 for 17).

Basnahira North: 132 for 2 in 17.4 overs (A. Athulathmudali 38, C. Vaas 25 n.o, A. Mathews 60 n.o, H. Dahanayake 2 for 14).
