CBB helps drive business with Britain
UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) Head Janet Ford addressed a luncheon
meeting recently hosted by the Council for Business with Britain (CBB)
at the Hilton Colombo Residence. Speaking about the opportunities that
exist for Sri Lankan companies to expand their businesses in the UK, she
highlighted the services offered free by the UKTI, fielded questions
from local business people, and lauded the work of the CBB in improving
business relations between Sri Lanka and the UK.
As a non-profit, non-political organization focused on promoting
bilateral trade between Sri Lanka and the UK, the CBB is actively
involved on building bridges between the business communities in these
two countries. Chaired by Delmege Constructions and Charter House Deputy
Chairman Anil Wijesinghe, the Council liaises with Sri Lankan and
British companies and institutions to forge mutually beneficial business
relationships.
The Executive Committee of the council comprises HSBC Sri Lanka and
the Maldives CEO Nick Nocolaou, the Vice Chairman, Ceylon Tobacco
Company MD/CEO Mustanser Ali Khan, the Hon Secretary, MAS Active MD
Shivendra Lawrence the Hon Treasurer and Andrea David of the Ceylon
Chamber of Commerce Secretariat.
