Cadet Corps officers in Vavuniya, Jaffna

A group of officers of the National Cadet Corps left for Vavuniya and Jaffna yesterday to expand cadet platoons in schools in these areas.

The National Cadet Corps has reactivated cadetting in many schools in the Jaffna district under the guidance of Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa under the Mahinda Chintana concept.

During the officers’ 10-day visit, thet will discuss future plans of the NCC with Army officers, educational and other resource persons in connection with this program. They will initiate new platoons in Vavuniya and Jaffna on the instruction of National Cadet Corps Director Major General Gamini Jayasundara RWP RSP. - (SKM)
