President always works for people - CWC District Organizer

It is necessary to strengthen the hands of President Mahinda Rajapaksa by winning the parliamentary elections, said Ceylon Workers' Congress Colombo District Organizer and United People's Freedom Alliance candidate M. Ravichandran.

Speaking at a press conference held in Colombo on Thursday, Ravichandran said that the President has assured him that he would satisfy the urgent needs of the people.

Ravichandran added that he is dedicated to this task. President Mahinda Rajapaksa always works for the people.

He further said that the number of candidates contesting at the past general elections were less. However, President Mahinda Rajapaksa had decided to field two Tamil candidates under the UPFA banner.

Ravichandran pointed out that Parliamentarians who represented Tamils failed to satisfy the needs of those people. Some of them had already left Colombo for other areas to contest in the elections.

People should understand that voting for the Opposition candidates would mean more problems and protests.

He said the Tamils living in Colombo who voted for the opposition at previous elections achieved nothing.

Ravichandran said that people are wise and they know that by voting to the UPFA they could develop their area through the intervention of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
