Suspects with Gaja Muthu arrested

Cinnamon Gardens Police arrested three suspects with 17 Gaja Muthu in their possession on Thursday afternoon.

Police Spokesman SP Prishantha Jayakody told the Daily News that the three suspects were arrested at the car park of a private company in the Cinnamon Gardens Police Division.

Police found out that the Gaja Muthu was brought to Colombo to trade but the suspects were arrested before the deal went through.

The three suspects between the ages of 28, 30, 32 are from the Kegalle and Deraniyagala areas. Colombo Magistrate ordered them to be remanded until March 5.

The suspects were arrested by a group of Police led by Sergeant Sumanasiri of the Cinnamon Gardens Police. Police are conducting further investigations.
