Sampath Bank, HDFC enters partnership

Sampath Bank, has formed a partnership with HDFC Bank to share their ATM network.

AGM (IT) HDFC Bank, W.M.A Bandara CEO/GM, Suresh Amerasekera Director P. Sumanapala Chief Operating Officer, Aravinda Perera DGM (IT) Vimal Indrasoma and Manager Systems Administration, Ajith Salgado look on.

This is a strategy adopted by many small banks to improve their delivery channels and at the same time improving the return on capital.

The Sampath ATM Network boasts of sophisticated technology and machinery with the ability to handle complex transactions and higher withdrawal ceiling while ensuring stringent safety and security standards complying with international Master and VISA regulations.

Sampath Bank initiated ATM sharing with other banks in 2004 with Bank of Ceylon and has formed partnerships with Union Bank, DFCC Vardhana Bank and National Savings Bank thus claiming the largest SriLankan ATM network.

The latest addition of HDFC network will increase the existing network to 730 access points in the island.

To ensure uninterrupted 24/7 availability of ATM services to their customers, the Sampath Bank ATM network is monitored round the clock for system failures and breakdowns by a special operations team who will be at hand any time for repair and back up services.

Sampath Bank holds an unblemished record for having zero down time within the ATM network, from the introduction of the very first ATM in Sri Lanka in 1987 to date, which is not an easy task considering the intricacies involved in maintenance and high usage.
