Easy for Antonians

It was fireworks by little Damithra Panditharatne when he smashed a belligerent 91 with 15 fours and a six off only 73 balls to guide St. Anthony’s College, Kandy to an easy 113 run win over Dharmaraja College ‘B’ to enter the quarter finals of the Rankekulu Schools under 13 cricket tournament organised by the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association and played at Katugastota.

Damithra Panditharatne batted with such aggression that it was like house on fire despatching the ball to the ropes or closer to it.

St. Anthony’s College ‘A’ 247 for 9 wickets in 30 overs (Damithra Panditharatne 91, Yapa Bandara 52, D. Bandara 25, P. Bandara 11, S. Dassanayake 11).

Dharmaraja College ‘B’ 134 for 9 wickets in 30 overs (U.P. Meebedda 67, P.R. Upulwatte 30, Tilak Bandara 2 for 30, K.P. Yapa Bandara 2 for 25, Damith Panditharatne 3 for 30).
